Disposable

We have not given spontaneity much chance lately. With the aid of digital cameras, moments captured are editable, filtered and of infinity frames, and also disposable i.e u delete if it didnt come out the way u wish it to be. We no longer treasure the value of the moment itself, instead we crave for perfection in physical appeals.

I gave cheap disposable camera (£6 per camera, buy 1 free 1 from Boots) a try. The outcome is gorgeous. Given that I had limited frames for beautiful trip, I am more than happy with the pictures developed. There were few wasted frames tho, but I dont mind. I try to regard them as artistic effects taken by mistake, I just couldnt throw them away. I rather dispose of camera than dispose of moments.

PS: Pictures were recaptured using my phone cause I dont have digital copies.

Doing love

because
How? I've found a really cool and inspiring website as an aid to explore your inner self and doing it passionately. Because the truth is, we whine so often about life being difficult. Instead of filing more complains and letting time decide (which it never will), you go create the changes you want to see in your life. Whatever it is, the will to change must come from within.

Note to Emey: it begins now!

Carpe diem

Wake up. Set. Go.

Your mental status when you first open your eyes at the break of sun dawn have an impact on your mood for the rest of the day.

Horace said 'Seize the day.'

Live another day like it is the final battle, as if there's no more tomorrow. As if it's your only chance. Carry that determination until you rest in peace at night. You'll look back and see all those things that u achieve in merely 24 hours (but minus the hours u spend sleeping). You will feel very satisfied.

oh I wish but I often fail. I break down every time after a heavy lunch. *Face palm*

The outcry

Seeing a torrent of people changing their display pictures on facebook and twitter into brown illustrated avatars, I could sense that a viral campaign was going on except I was not affected (yet). Being typical ignorant me, and curious at the same time, I made the effort to Google it up.

Palestinian prisoners hunger strike. The scale of prisoners going on strike increased four times retrospectively. Respect for human rights in prison i.e. improving prison condition, abolish 'administrative detention', ending the ban on academic materials. 75 days without food. Responded well by the Israeli prison department 2 days ago.

Those are a few things, but the main thing that I am most drawn to is this article that talks about the power of peaceful demonstration. Such protest, not something new to Palestinians, was soundless but influential, proves that demonstration can be done peacefully without blood, without public damage (in contrast to what saw on news regarding Bersih demo). However, to have yielded a protest as affective as this, the hunger strike was well planned and supported by grass-roots organizations. Support rallies are seen around the world, tho I read somewhere that this strike still lacks of international support.

Now that I understand, I am affected by the pandemic.

Challenge 30# Looking forward to...

finishing this challenge, of course!

Yay to me, I've finished this 30 days challenge without fail! It feels good to be able to meet a short term goal. I reckon I should try to achieve more short term goals, more often just because it feels gooooood!

I am gonna come up with a new challenge after this. For now, the main challenge is to absorb all lecture notes by osmosis, hoping it'll stay in me head until the Part 3 exam of MBBS this July. Following to that, another thing to look forward to is London-Paris-Cairo-Kuala Lumpur. I am excited for summer holiday :)
